Happy Birthday
Wishing myself a happy birthday.

So I'm 35 now. Oh how time flies. Been a while since I've posted here. Few months now.
Haven't really had the time to get the backend to this site working 100% until now. Been busy with other projects. I found a bit of time though, and now I can post and edit entries directly from this site instead of uploading files. Huzzah.
I'm almost at the point where I want to put AMV on Github. Not yet though. Lots of kinks to work out and unit tests to create. I still don't have any kind of comments system build as of this post, and I have other priorities. I'm still mulling over that idea of creating a live editor to use with USHF. I registered a domain already and I'm thinking about ideas for the interface. I think a mobile-focused code editor would be interesting: all of the sites like codepen.io or jsfiddle.net look horrendous on mobile, and the default mobile keyboard is ill-suited to writing code. There could be a niche for something like that if I can see it to fruition.
I'm going to call it Zcripter.
I'll be done my upgrading courses on August 14th and be eligible to take something university level after that. That was a silly thing I did, dropping out of school in my youth. Having to play catch-up in my thirties and paying a few thousand for the privilege. I don't know who's reading this, but if you're young enough to be in school, don't be a loser and drop out like me. Not to say I didn't have a lot of fun at the time. Punk rock changed my life.
In standard birthday procedure I'm making a list. A TODO list. A great big list of things I want to get done or finish learning in the next few weeks to months. I've been dragging my heels for so long, this site should help to keep me focused...
- Pass my Chemistry and Physics updgrading courses.
- Build the foundation for Zcripter.
- Finish my portfolio at Guakein.com.
- Make a resume like a big boy.
- Do the second half of A+ before it expires in October.
- See about Network+ and Security+.
- Finish freecodecamp's responsive web design course.
- Redo site design for 1002px.
- Rewrite Hazel in C instead of PHP (it's slow...)
- Resurrect the client API for Ellipsis.
- Iron the kinks out of AMV and build the comments system.
- Also finish the analytics system.
In addition to that, there's another project I've been thinking of that would be a good candidate for a React, Node.js, Tailwind piece for my portfolio. A website where users can assemble a page full of widgets that show stock and/or crypto prices in real-time. It would connect with API to retrieve the data and demonstrate a lot of employable skills. Not sure what to call it, but I'll probably host it on Netlify instead of buying yet another domain.
If I can get all these things done to a reasonable level in the coming weeks I'll feel really good about myself. I'll feel like I'm getting back a lot of what they took from me last year when I was forced to leave Van. That's an episode I don't want to relive again if I can avoid it...
